Jewelry Making for Adults - Thursday Evenings with Faryn Fee (11/3/22-12/15/22), 5-8PM

Price: (TBD) $360 (glaze, 1st bag of clay, firing, instruction and drop-in open studio time included). Tools ($20 + tax) and additional clay ($15-$35 per 25 lb bag) available for purchase at Clay Studio.
Description: In this beginners class for jewelry making we will explore the realm of ceramic adornment...from beads, pendant and charms to more elaborate bangles and headpieces. We will make everything in ceramic then explore possible and ideal assemblage particular to each unique piece. This is is an opportunity to explore your personal style as well as develop intricate techniques with clay to develop your very own jewelry collection.
As each student will be responsible for supplying their own assemblage material, we encourage recycling any scrap strings, fabric, leather, or wires lying around as we will explore experimental ways to couple materials with ceramic accouterments to make truly inspired collections. Age 18+.
Location: This class meets in an upstairs classroom. Students must be able to climb stairs.
Drop-in open studio hours will be available for this course: Students are welcome to come in to Clay Studio during our Open Studio Lab hours to work independently on Sundays from 11AM-4PM, Mondays from 10AM-1PM, Tuesdays from 4PM-8PM, and Fridays from 10AM-1PM. Please note that Open Studio Lab hours are subject to change.
Covid-19 Vaccination Mandate: Starting February 1, 2022, Clay Studio will require all employees, teachers, members and students to be vaccinated in order to enter the studio. You must show your vaccination card, a photo of your vaccination card or your SMART Health Card Record from Ca.gov to a Clay Studio employee on your first day of class. Instructor: Faryn Fee
About your instructor: Faryn Fee is a multidisciplinary artist. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Paris College of Art in France and a certificate of Ceramics and Metaphysics at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Specializing in porcelain, she pushes the boundaries of material limitations and through a process of deep outro/introspection she creates otherworldly landscapes that transcend the physical and into the spiritual realm to encourage the investigation of the rapture of being. Her teaching style emphasizes a development of exploration and intuitive manipulation of material to touch the inherently healing mechanism of creative work.
