Visiting Artist Workshop: Keith Simpson - 1-Part Molds Using Pottery Plaster

Description: Students will learn the principles of Pottery Plaster and will explore how plaster molds can be a useful skill set for ceramic artists in many ways. Emphasis will be placed on techniques to safely mix and pour plaster, as well as how to determine the best objects from which to make molds. Students will leave the workshop with multiple small molds that may be used to press clay into to generate “sprigs” or to use as stand-alone objects (cups, lid knobs, tiles, etc…). Participants will be provided with all materials and equipment needed to have a successful experience for the day.

Open to all skill levels.
